Tips for keep fit
September 7, 2009
By following a diet that is low in fat and high in carbohydrates and fibre, you can reduce your food cravings, stay fuller for longer and offer your body all the nutrients it needs:
Carbohydrates – the easy way to stay full and cut down on calories. Breads, pasta, rice and potatoes are great for bulking out your meals and giving your body the extra bonus of vitamins, minerals and fibre to help your digestive system. Plus they are cheap.
Fruit and vegetables – they are incredibly versatile. Frozen, tinned or dried they are one of the cheaper food options on the market and can be used in a variety of ways… soups, detoxifying smoothies or simple snacks. Either way your body will always benefit.
Meat, fish and alternatives – meat, poultry, fish, eggs, beans and lentils, the list is endless and their benefits are too. Protein, vitamins and more importantly iron... you can mix them how you wish and come up with original tasty meals. With meat in particular, you can use it sparingly whilst keeping your meals delicious.
Fats and sweets – your greatest delight and probably one of your greatest costs. By simply cutting down and saving them for special occasions, you can keep the word in ‘treat’ and savour their unique tastes without having to completely cut them out of your diet.
